The Centre for European Democracy Studies is an independent center for academic research focusing on various aspects of modern democracy in Europe, as well as a development of its main institutions and components.

The emphasis in the currently existing research programs of the Center is on the history of the development of democracy in Europe, its ideology, and controversial points in its development. Our center was founded in 2008 by virtue of the initiative of specialists involved in the political history of Europe, the development of democracy, national minorities and human rights.

From the first years of the development, specialists of the Center have been studying the national policies of governments of several European countries, the history of the formation of a democratic structure in Europe, relations between Western European countries with developed democracy and Eastern Europe with a post-Soviet system.
