The winners of Bulgaria's parliamentary elections, GERB and the Change Continues-Democratic Bulgaria coalition (PP-DB), have met to discuss the
possibility of forming a Euro-Atlantic government.
As the party with the most votes but not a majority, GERB must form a coalition to govern. The PP-DB has refused to participate in a government with GERB or ministers appointed by former Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.
GERB has given the PP-DB until Sunday to propose a prime minister and ministers. While the PP-DB initially rejected the ultimatum, they later signalled that they might present a draft composition of a possible cabinet. Borissov has stated that he is willing to support a cabinet with a second mandate but would like to see its draft composition before deciding whether to return the first mandate.
