Interest in federal government jobs surged again in 2025, with competition for positions reaching new highs. According to the responsible ministry, an average of 33 candidates
applied for each vacancy—marking the fourth consecutive year of rising demand.
The government’s recruitment platform also saw strong growth. Monthly visits surpassed 500,000 in 2025, reflecting increasing interest from job seekers. At the same time, however, the number of available positions dropped significantly. Vacancies fell by 26 percent, leaving just 5,872 openings throughout the year.
This imbalance between supply and demand has intensified competition. In total, 93,366 applications were submitted, underscoring the appeal of public sector employment despite fewer opportunities.
Senior roles attracted notable attention as well. Even with a limited number of top management positions, each vacancy drew an average of 18 applicants. Meanwhile, gender diversity showed improvement, with the share of female candidates rising from 35.5 percent to 40 percent.
Overall, the figures highlight a tightening job market within the federal government, where fewer openings are being met with growing interest from a broad pool of candidates.
