The European Parliament will fly the EU and Ukrainian flags at its three main locations from Sunday, February 23, to Tuesday, February 25, to mark three years since Russia's
invasion of Ukraine. Russia's attack, launched on February 24, 2022, has been widely condemned as unprovoked, unjustified, and illegal.
Special flag displays will be set up in front of the SPAAK building in Brussels, the WEISS building in Strasbourg, and the ADENAUER building in Luxembourg. These flags will be on display from Sunday, February 23, at 16:00 until Tuesday, February 25, at 09:00. Additionally, by 11:00 on Tuesday, a Ukrainian flag will be positioned alongside the EU flag and the flags of all 27 EU member states at these locations.
In Brussels, the Station Europe building will be illuminated in the blue and yellow colors of the Ukrainian flag on the evenings of February 23 and 24, from 19:00 to 01:00.
On February 11, 2025, the Parliament’s leadership reaffirmed their unwavering solidarity with the people of Ukraine, recognizing their resilience and courage in defending their sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) are expected to adopt a resolution on the EU’s continued and unwavering support for Ukraine during the next plenary session on March 12. This follows a plenary debate scheduled for February 11.
